And so after a long period of absence from lj, I come back with a story. Enough of this personal literary drought (blame it on the homework, blame it on university life). Here goes:

Hello world. I am officially one week (no correction: 4 days actually) away from Winter Break superyay. London is having the coldest winter since forever this year and I'm glad to miss it. Going back to Beijing is always fun, but I miss singapore so much too- this is where I cue the blame-the-parents rant. To soothe my aching heart I'm going to make a list, a 5-things-i-will-do-when-i-next-go-home-to-sunny-island list.

1. Eat at ion basement go! go! curry gori gori go go.

2. Sisterhood holiday with elean and melly to somewhere with good food, nice weather, kewl shopping and hot people* (*please choose 2 of the above)

3. Not do an internship.

4. Go for tasty breakfasts. (And make people go WITH me)

5. Drink 1 Happy Lemon every day.

Ok so everyone’s been upset that I still have no school. But do not fret, school will officially begin for me -drumroll- tomorrow. I know, I should be the last to complain since I had this ridiculously summer but hey who doesn’t like vacation. Lots of work to do already, pre-school prep has finally begun. Only have one outside option this year so I’m pretty much stuck with IR (which makes me think, why am I majoring in IR, why aren’t I majoring in something light and fluffy like marketing, ah the folly of youth…) And with yet another brilliant decisions-in-life moment I’ve opted for International law so cheers on one very heavy hardcore school year ahead.

Maybe I’ll meet people, make new friends. Yeah yeah. Wish me luck buddies.

Second read of after the quake. I’m not sure if it’s because I have little aspirations in life or if I was born to be some major bummer but I get really envious of Murakami people. This Miyake guy likes to light bonfires by the beach, paints for a living, comes out every morning to buy milk and bread, has a bento box for lunch, beer and snacks for dinner. Sounds like my kind of life. I think deep inside I’m not cut out for great things. I also want to live in a Japanese small town by the sea and just, pass time. Or maybe, this will be my post-success aspiration. Retirement here I come!!

I think this sentiment also has something to do with the extremely unfortunate fact that my summer vacation (3.5 months! Imagine that…) is coming to an end, at last. Alas. But something about school starting makes me all perky, this one part of me. Maybe I wasn’t cut out for whole life bumming after all. Maybe just half life bumming. Mmmm maybe.
